Jesus Becerra, Senior Business Banking Specialist at Wells Fargo Bank has participated in the Austin Chamber for five years and sees the access and professional development as a tremendous benefit.

“I have had the privilege of being part of the Austin Chamber for the last five years. I started out as someone who had minimal experience in community or public relations, and my role as a Chamber Ambassador was the first such position I held. It allowed me to develop my skills in relationship building, networking, public speaking, and professional development,” said Becerra.

He continued, “Being a member pushed me out of my comfort zone and helped challenge me to develop those much-needed skills for my role and my career path. The Ambassador program gave me direct access to new and existing Chamber members and staff.

I was able to build a network of like-minded individuals who were trying to develop business relationships as well as give back to the volunteer efforts in Austin.

I have been able to be part of a strong business support system. Most importantly I am able to give back every day.”

Wells Fargo has been a vital member of the Austin Chamber for many years, and is involved as an organization at almost every level. Becerra explains,

“Wells Fargo has benefitted through success in growing our business and community relationships. We have been able to maintain a reputation of professionalism, commitment to the community, and trust.”

But Becerra sees the benefit to his association with the Austin Chamber beyond just the professional aspect:

“The greatest value to participating in the Chamber has been the opportunities and connections built. Being around this level of professionals has been one of my best resources. But the one thing I will value the most is the lifelong friendships I have been blessed to make here.”
