The Austin Core Transportation (ACT) Plan is entering its second phase of engagement, and Austin Transportation would like to hear from you about how you would like your streets to look like and function. A virtual open house and survey is available here. Phase 2 of the ACT Plan reflects that input from Phase 1, as well as the latest information from partner mobility organizations on major upcoming projects such as Capital Express Central and Project Connect.

The ACT Plan began in the summer of 2022 asking people about the different street elements they prefer and how they get around Downtown. The ACT Plan team attended events across downtown, working with dozens of different organizations, groups, and communities, and collecting over 2,100 surveys across multiple languages. You can find a summary of what we heard here.

The ACT Plan is looking at mobility in Downtown Austin, defined as the area between Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard to the north, Lamar Boulevard to the west, Lady Bird Lake to the south and Interstate 35 to the east. With major transportation changes coming to this are through Project Connect and the I-35 Capital Express Central reconstruction project, it is critical to reassess how our Downtown streets perform and what they look like.
