  • 8,900 or 19 percent of the Available Job Postings during the January reporting period fell under Computer and Mathematical Occupations, which also had the largest year-to-year increases in postings. Management Occupations saw the second largest year-to-year increases as more employers are posting for more experienced talent.

  • Approximately 36 percent or about 17,300 of Available Job Postings are New (First-time) Job Postings with Computer and Mathematical Occupations and Management Occupations leading in this category. Companies are placing more New Job Postings this month when compared to last month.

  • According to the Texas Workforce Commission, the Austin MSA reported an unemployment rate of 3.3% or 40,200 unemployed in January 2019, an increase of 7,100 more people unemployed when compared to the previous month.
