• A letter from Leigh

By now, so many of us have transitioned to a remote-working community, and we’ve settled in to our new normal. The words settled and normal mean that we’ve claimed new office spaces and become expertly trained at rallying teams via Zoom; our calendars are swamped with webinar invites; and our daily routines have shifted as pets, family and children have become part of our work hours. And there’s no escaping the reality that unemployment is rising, small businesses are suffering, and our healthcare professionals have become our heroes on the front lines.

Yet, in these times, we are seeing so many of our tech and innovative leaders, businesses and investors step up and lead with compassion, empathy and grit as we push forward together. We are getting to know one another as human beings, with all that that entails; we’re searching for collaborations and ways to support one another; and we’re focused on recovering from COVID-19 stronger together. May we all continue to remember that we are truly in this together.

    Best,

Leigh Christie, SVP, Global Tech & Innovation, Austin Chamber
