This week, we’re highlighting Jenna Rodarte, one of our Customer Success Managers at the Chamber. Jenna's role is all about ensuring our members get the most out of their Chamber experience, from onboarding new members to helping businesses navigate our many resources and opportunities.

A Day in the Life of a Customer Success Manager

As a Customer Success Manager, Jenna’s responsibilities involve serving as the go-to account manager for Chamber members, answering their questions, and helping them engage with various committees, councils, and networking events.

“Our roles are pretty cool because every day looks a little bit different,” Jenna explains. “Some days, we’re out in the community for ribbon cuttings at new or milestone-celebrating businesses. Other days, I’m at Chamber events, hosting committee and council meetings, or connecting with members at networking events.”

But it’s not all about getting out of the office. A significant part of Jenna’s role involves behind-the-scenes work, like maintaining the Chamber’s database, ensuring member contacts are accurate, and assisting with membership renewals.

“Data management is a big piece of what we do,” she says. “We make sure we’re reaching out to the right person when it’s time for a membership to renew, updating contact information, and keeping our database clean.”

Jenna’s Main Goals in Her Position

On a daily basis, Jenna prioritizes quick responses to emails and inquiries, aiming to provide a 48-hour turnaround. Monthly, she focuses on onboarding new members, setting up their member portals, and guiding them through available opportunities.

“Our process is cyclical,” she explains. “Each month, we ensure that upcoming renewals have accurate contact information, onboard new members, and collect dues. We work closely with the accounting team to make sure everything runs smoothly.”

Her overarching goal is to ensure that members utilize their Chamber benefits. “When members engage with what we offer, they’re more likely to see the value and renew their memberships. That’s what drives our efforts.”

Jenna’s Journey to a Customer Success Role

Jenna’s path to the Chamber began with a degree in Public Relations and a minor in Leadership and Nonprofits from the University of North Texas. While pursuing her degree, she discovered her passion for nonprofit work and community engagement.

After college, she joined AmeriCorps, working as a volunteer coordinator for a nonprofit in Dallas. This experience led her to roles at organizations like United Way, Thinkery, and Creative Action, where she focused on volunteer management and corporate engagement.

“Connecting businesses with their communities has always been a passion of mine,” Jenna shares. “When I joined the Chamber, I saw an incredible opportunity to help businesses grow and build meaningful relationships.”

Her role at the Chamber allows her to combine her love for community-minded work with her talent for connecting people.

The Most Surprising Aspects of Her Role

For Jenna, one of the most surprising aspects of working at the Chamber has been the diversity of businesses it serves.

“Before joining, I thought Chambers were just about networking for large corporations,” she admits. “But it’s been amazing to see the variety—whether it’s a one-person business or a large corporation with a local presence, there’s something for everyone.”

Challenges Facing Austin Businesses

“Hiring is a big issue, especially with Austin’s high cost of living,” she notes. “It impacts everything—rental rates, employee salaries, and ultimately how businesses operate. Small businesses and larger corporations alike are feeling the pressure.”

Jenna’s Favorite Austin Spots

When she’s not working, Jenna loves exploring Austin’s vibrant culture. Her favorite restaurant is Tumble 22, where she and her friends regularly try the hot chicken sandwich of the month. She also enjoys walking her dog, Trixie, on the Northern Walnut Creek Trail, a shaded and scenic path near her home.

For a casual night out, Jenna recommends Aristocrat, a North Austin bar with great drinks, pool, darts, and shuffleboard. “It’s a great spot to hang out with friends, grab a bite from the food truck outside, and just relax.”
