Crux Climbing Center celebrates latest fitness expansion

Posted on 03/05/2020 by Greater Austin Chamber of Commerce

Crux Climbing Center, located at 121 Pickle Road, celebrated the grand opening of its new fitness expansion with a ribbon-cutting on Feb. 19. Crux’s South Congress expansion is the company’s first step in expanding its footprint to more than 100,000 sq. ft. across Austin and its surrounding areas. The center joined the Chamber in 2019.

Crux Climbing Center is an Austin-based climbing facility that provides an approachable, community-driven fitness experience where Austinites can discover a passion for climbing and community.

“We love Austin and we take a lot of pride in being an Austin-born business,” said Kevin Goradia, co-founder and CEO. “It’s important for us to be an active part of the Austin community. This location marks the beginning of our expansion journey. By the time we build Crux’s third location, we will have created more than 200 jobs and invested millions of dollars into the Austin-community."

Its flagship location is in the heart of south Austin, with a second location opening in Central Austin later in 2020, and a third location set to open in Round Rock in 2021. Its facilities feature rope climbing, bouldering, strength training, fitness and yoga classes, a kids’ area and more.
