Convey, Inc. wins Greater Austin Business Award for cutting-edge technology that proactively solves shipment dilemmas

The U.S. Postal Service processes and delivers more than 506 million pieces of mail each day. That’s an average of 5,861 pieces of mail each second. One local company, Convey, is coming pretty close to this level of connectivity by capturing the hearts of consumers and businesses.

No, Convey doesn’t deliver the mail. They do more than that. The local Austin startup helps companies control their in-transit shipments and manage exceptions to provide a consistent and positive delivery experience for consumers. Think of them as a fairy godmother that works with millions of other fairy godmothers to ensure that your most anticipated package arrives on time. Except the godmothers aren’t really fairies, its technology.

“Our cloud-based platform connects disparate data and processes to give shippers better visibility to make smart decisions by enabling them to prioritize, escalate, and trigger action automatically as delivery issues occur,” said Rob Taylor, CEO of Convey, Inc. “We are the first solution based organization that is focused exclusively on creating better outcomes from the point of shipping origin to final destination.”

Analysis across Convey’s client base has found 8 to 12 percent of shipments will experience carrier-reported issues and roughly 75 percent of these issues should be acted upon either through automation or through escalation. Convey allows retailers to gain the ability to proactively solve these shipment issues before customers ask, saving time and money, while also improving the customer experience. Customers who used Convey’s services saved 11 percent on all freight costs gained a 5X increase in visibility to address delayed shipments.

“As channels, carrier networks, and consumer demands become increasingly complicated, the pressure is mounting for logistics and operations teams to become more dynamic, agile, and customer-centric,” said Taylor. “With technology, more efficient operations and effective communication can occur within a single and simple interface.”

Convey maintains a Net Promoter Score (NPS) of 100 indicating that customers are strongly satisfied with their service and loyalty to the brand. Convey is analyzing 100M shipments annually for its clients including escalating 22K+ shipment exceptions daily for action and resolution. So far for 2017, Convey has achieved greater than 380% percent revenue growth. The company was also recognized as one of the Top 100 Supply Chain and Demand Executive (SDC) Case Studies for 2017.

This remarkable amount of success along with many other reasons is why this local company won the Facebook Innovation Award. The accolade, a category of the Greater Austin Business Awards program, recognizes businesses that implement new ideas and approaches for doing business.

Recently, Convey partnered with Ingram Micro Commerce and Fulfillment, a global leading 3PL provider, to assist the organization with new levels of transparency, control over in-transit shipments, and managing exceptions. Ingram Micro Commerce and Fulfillment works with more than 200,000 brands and resellers by shipping nearly 500 million units annually. The partnership represents the first of many new opportunities for Convey products in logistics services, manufacturing, B2B, medical, and pharmaceutical supply industries.

Convey's client roster represents four of the Internet Retailer Top 10 eCommerce companies and six of Women's Wear Daily's Top 25. Clients include leading innovators such as Jet.com, Build.com, UncommonGoods, Blu Dot, BuildDirect, and ICON Health and Fitness.
