Posted on 09/21/2016 by Greater Austin Chamber of Commerce

The Austin Chamber provides members with several opportunities to engage with federal elected officials. This past Friday, Congressman Kevin Brady visited the Chamber for a roundtable with business leaders throughout our community.

As Chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee and author of tax policy, Congressman Brady spoke at length about the need for tax reform, simplifying the current system, and implementing programs to ease government regulations and spur job creation. He also emphasized the importance of creating a fair and balanced system to resolve disputes with the government for all corporations, small businesses, and individual taxpayers.

Austin companies had many questions related to the implementation of the proposal and how it would affect their respective industries which were answered by Chairman Brady.

Congressman Brady represents Texas's 8th congressional district located north of Houston. He was first elected to the Texas State Legislature in 1990 and later to the U.S. Congress in 1996. His tax reform proposal can be found at www.KevinBrady.House.Gov/Feedback.
