Austin, Texas - Following the announcement that Pflugerville Independent School District has hired current Hutto Independent School District Superintendent Douglas Killian as its next Superintendent, the Drew Scheberle, Senior Vice President at the Austin Chamber of Commerce, released the following statement.

Scheberle: “Doug Killian has been at the forefront of education and management innovation during his time in Hutto. He is transparent, community-minded, and a strong communicator. His dedication to the students and families he has served will help Pflugerville reach new heights. Doug has experience leading a school district that is experiencing rapid growth in its student population and is the right hire at the right time for Pflugerville. As a recipient of the Austin Chamber of Commerce’s Superintendent of the Year award on multiple occasions for his work in Hutto, we are confident that Doug will continue to take challenges head on while ensuring that the kids come first. The Austin Chamber of Commerce looks forward to continuing our relationship with Doug and Pflugerville ISD.”
