Chamber Launches New Campaign To Help Students Receive Financial Aid

Posted on 10/05/2016 by Greater Austin Chamber of Commerce

This past Friday at ACC's Highland Business Center, the Austin Chamber hosted a kickoff event for school counselors, staff, and community partners to learn about this year’s effort to help students file out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid, or FASFA. This free program offers a clear-cut and centralized way for thousands of local high school students to apply for and receive financial aid to help transition directly from high school to college.

Chamber Vice President of Education and Talent, Gilbert Zavala, addressed the crowd and answered questions on accessibility, scheduled dates, and FASFA processes. Advocacy Senior Vice President, Drew Scheberle, spoke about public policy, upcoming legislative debates, and the importance of making the program available to students seeking a path to college.

Visit FASFA's homepage or College Insight to learn more about financial aid programs, schedule important dates and times, and receive updates on free scholarship matching and college planning services.
