The Austin Chamber is proud to announce the winners of the Alamo Drafthouse VIP screening and scholarship contests.

The schools that have won a VIP screening of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 at an Alamo location for members of their senior classes for having the highest FAFSA submission rate in their school's category are:

Westwood High School (Round Rock ISD)
Hutto High School (Hutto ISD)
KIPP Collegiate High School

Student leaders who helped promote FAFSA submission at their schools were also awarded scholarships for their outstanding leadership and performance in their schools’ category for FAFSA submission. The scholarships total $1,000 per school and were provided by the Austin Chamber of Commerce. The winners are:

Westwood High School (Round Rock ISD) - Rohith Mandavilli and Muhozi Nintunze
Bowie High School (Austin ISD) – Ilona Poole
Hutto High School (Hutto ISD) – Genny Myers
McCallum High School (Austin ISD) – Emily Goulet
Liberal Arts and Sciences Academy (Austin ISD) – Quinn Simpson
KIPP Collegiate High School – Keia Galo and Christhian Cosenza
Ann Richards High School (Austin ISD) – Elena Gonzalez

The Austin Chamber of Commerce sponsored more than 50 FAFSA completion events at more than two dozen locations. These events helped more than 3,000 families find funding to afford college for 2016 through this spring. Because of the hard work of our student leaders, more than 9,000 FAFSAS were submitted by local students, which represents $92.5 million in expected financial aid!
