Kendall Pace Elected as Austin ISD Trustee President

Posted on 01/20/2016 by Greater Austin Chamber of Commerce

Congratulations to Kendall Pace, at-large Trustee, businesswoman and parent with long-time involvement in Austin ISD, for her election as Austin ISD President around midnight last night. President Pace is joined by Paul Saldaña as Trustee Vice President and Julie Cowan as Trustee Secretary. As the Chamber’s Education Council knows, Kendall Pace is known as a consensus builder who has not been afraid to start and include people in the conversations we need to resolve Austin ISD's most challenging issues. She is data driven yet with a welcoming touch. The Chamber thanks President Pace and her colleagues for their commitment to the public and our children and we look forward to working with her, the board and the superintendent.

Gina Hinojosa remains on the AISD board through the end of her term in November but has stepped down as Trustee President in her pursuit of the Democratic nomination for House District 49. Thank you to Ms. Hinojosa, Amber Elenz and Jayme Mathias for their service in Board leadership roles for Austin ISD. This November, 5 of 9 Austin ISD seats will be up for election.
