Austin Ranked as Global City of the Future

Posted on 12/15/2016 by Greater Austin Chamber of Commerce

Back in July, the Austin Chamber was contacted by fDi Intelligence, a division of the Financial Times in London, to participate in annual study that examined cites from a global perspective. This included economic potential, human capital and lifestyle, and cost effectiveness. The Chamber provided data, analytics, and statistics on a host of issues ranging from global technology to tax codes to investor engagement. fDi just announced their results. Out of a list of hundreds of international cities, Austin is now ranked 8th in Global Strategy ahead of Copenhagen, Perth, and London. Edinburgh is number one and Hong Kong second.

Out of the many rankings that come out each year and show Austin as a great place to live, work, and invest, our city can now add the distinction of being an International Global City of the Future.
