Austin Chamber Launches New Emergency Disaster Web Page

Posted on 05/09/2018 by Greater Austin Chamber of Commerce

Based on input from the Chamber’s Board of Directors, a new webpage was developed to provide resources to Austin-area businesses and owners regarding emergency situations.

“After recent events in Austin, we wanted to take this opportunity to help businesses better prepare for a crisis or disaster in our area,” said Denise Bradley, Board Member of the Austin Chamber and Vice President of Communication and Community Affairs at St. David’s HealthCare. “Our hope is that this new web page can serve as a resource to businesses by providing them with easily accessible tools that they can use to prepare for and manage through emergency situations.”

The web page, featured on the Austin Chamber’s website, is not only easy to navigate but also accessible 24/7 on any mobile device, tablet, or desktop. The site features links to articles on topics including emergency preparedness training, public safety communication, book recommendations on crisis management laws, and small business resources.

The Greater Austin Chamber Board of Directors is composed of 50 business members who provide leadership on key work areas in the business community. The goal of the board is to bring together a broad range of leaders that can best serve the needs of the business community by solving challenges that threaten the economic climate in Central Texas.
