The Austin Chamber of Commerce staff donated enough money in June to supply more than 18,000 meals to Central Texas residents. The donations went to the Central Texas Food Bank, which will take the gifts and turn them into meals for our neighbors in need.

The Austin Chamber partners with the Central Texas Food Bank each summer, and this year, donations were once again matched by an outside donor allowing every $1 donated to supply 8 meals.

Chamber staff was divided into two teams to compete on which would be the most generous. Over two weeks, the chamber staff raised over $2,200.

The Austin Chamber puts the spotlight on corporate philanthropy through our Austin Gives program. We highlight companies across the Austin region that donate 1% or more of their pre-tax earnings to the local community. This includes financial contributions, the donation of products/services, and volunteer hours.

Tickets to this year’s Austin Gives Awards event are on sale now. Visit the event website for more details.

“The Austin Chamber believes in giving back to our community. I am so proud of our staff for pitching in to make a difference for those in need here in Central Texas. Thank the Central Texas Food Bank for your partnership and for helping our community,” said Laura Huffman President and CEO of the Austin Chamber.
