Posted on 08/21/2019 by Greater Austin Chamber of Commerce

Recently the Austin Chamber of Commerce helped the Auberge at Onion Creek celebrate its ribbon cutting. At the Auberge at Onion Creek, which is a memory care residence, residents enjoy an active, engaging lifestyle that promotes wellness and independence. The Auberge at Onion Creek's goal is to keep its residents linked to resources and opportunities that will fulfill their needs and interests in the Austin area. Residents have many opportunities to participate in a variety of life enriching activities and events designed to stimulate the mind, body and soul. From cocktail-hour gatherings where residents can learn about the nuances of a good Pinot Noir, to a discussion of the latest best seller in a Life-Long Learning series, to exploring new ways to stay healthy in a fitness class, residents can expect the unexpected.

Auberge at Onion Creek utilizes the Montessori methods of life enrichment. They encourage residents to craft their crafts, do what they can for themselves, bring their life skills to the property, and then encourage other people to participate in it. Residents have even been featured on the front cover of the craft beer trade magazine! They’ve had national awards, and different breweries have picked up their recipe and mass produced in order to raise money for the Alzheimer’s Association. Residents at Auberge at Onion Creek are living full lives and positively impacting fellow residents and the community.
