2019 Washington, DC Advocacy Trip

The delegation at the United States Capitol

This week the Austin Chamber of Commerce led a delegation of more than 60 people to Washington, DC to support policies that will help our region prosper. We had the opportunity to hear from many of our region’s congressional delegation, the Speaker of the House, the Under Secretary of the Army, and several other elected officials and policymakers. It truly was a master class in politics and policy.

We participated in dozens of meetings with congressional staff and federal agencies to help shape a policy environment that will spur economic growth, improve education, solve mobility issues, and help make the Army Futures Command a lasting success in Austin.

Our trip wouldn’t have been possible without our delegates, sponsors, speakers, and countless others who worked to pull off a successful trip. A special thank you to the co-chairs of our trip, Elizabeth Christian and Molly Beth Malcom whose leadership and dedication contributed greatly to a productive trip.
