Michael Berman Named Senior Vice President of Communications

January 6, 2015, AUSTIN, TX – In an effort to broaden awareness of the Chamber’s mission, messages and numerous integrated programs that benefit the Central Texas region, the Austin Chamber of Commerce announced the appointment of Michael Berman as Senior Vice President of Communications. Berman will lead the organization’s communication strategy and oversee the Chamber’s media, print, online and social media efforts.

“Mike is an accomplished executive with a strong background in strategic communications and executing on integrated campaigns,” said Mike Rollins, President of the Austin Chamber of Commerce. “We are confident that his diverse experience and passion for the region will be an asset to the Chamber’s efforts to ensure Austin continues to have a highly prosperous and connected business community.”

Berman has more than 25 years of communication and marketing experience in the health care, technology and travel industries. Most recently, he served as Senior Director of PR and Communications for Novation, a leading health care contracting and services company for more than 100,000 hospital members and affiliates. Prior to Novation, Berman led successful teams at UT Southwestern Medical Center, Sabre Holdings, Vignette Corporation, and Compaq Computer Corporation (acquired by HP).

I look forward to working within our community to take on the toughest challenges and deliver even greater value to the members and communities served by the Chamber,” said Berman.

Berman received his Bachelor of Science in Communications from Western Michigan University.
