    Mentoring Youth in Care + Aged-out Youth: Mentors will build relationships and teach life skills with the hope of creating positive outcomes and independent living skills for youth in foster care.     Exchange is a platform that brings together experts, innovators, and leaders to create community solutions to critical COVID-19 needs. How it works: Someone in the community submits a need. Then the community comes up with a creative solution. People can respond to specific needs, or contribute raw materials, and if you have ideas and materials that you think could help then you can simply submit a solution.

    Become a crisis counselor. Crisis Counselors answer texts from people in crisis, bringing them from a hot moment to a cool calm through active listening, collaborative problem solving, and safety planning.

  • Emergency Operations Center

    The Emergency Operations Center is requesting 3 – 4 volunteers for each of their Protective Lodging Hotel Sites to deliver meals. Volunteers will unload the catering van and distribute meals in front of room doors. Deliveries will run from 4/28 – 6/27. Meal times are usually 7:30am, Noon, & 5pm with the exception of the Days Inn breakfast starting at 8am. For more information and to sign up, please reach out to volunteer@uwatx.org.

    Every year, Family Eldercare organizes a Summer Fan Drive to bring heat relief to thousands of Central Texans. Due to rising temperatures & increasing utility costs for our elderly neighbors and families sheltering inside their homes, Family Eldercare will be mobilizing the Summer Fan Drive early this year so that we can be ready to deliver them later this month.

    We Are Blood is actively collecting convalescent plasma donations from individuals who have had a lab-confirmed diagnosis of COVID-19 and have fully recovered from a COVID-19 infection. This plasma is being used to treat patients currently fighting COVID-19.
