CAMPO
Alan Nirenberg with PlainesCapital Bank testified on behalf of the Austin Chamber & Take on Traffic at CAMPO's September 26 public hearing. Nirenberg encouraged the CAMPO Board to select projects for current available funding that were regionally significant, address peak hour congestion and connect our region's employment hubs and centers.

CAMPO Call for Projects
Hate traffic? Here's your opportunity to help prioritize which regionally significant transportation projects should be funded over the next few years.
Whether you live in Cedar Park and commute to Austin's urban core or live in San Marcos and commute to Round Rock, tell CAMPO you’re tired of sitting in traffic and that addressing peak hour congestion and connectivity between centers and employment hubs should be a priority.
- Attend a meeting.
Background
Multiple sources of transportation funding totaling approximately $134 million have become available to Central Texas. In response, the Capital Metropolitan Planning Organization (CAMPO) issued a call for projects. Entities throughout the five-county CAMPO region (Bastrop, Caldwell, Hays, Travis and Williamson Counties) submitted 170 projects totaling over $834 million.

Mark Your Calendars - Multiple Opportunities to Provide Input on Major Mobility Corridors
The City of Austin is hosting several open houses to gather public input on four Mobility Corridor Studies. Funded by the City of Austin's 2010 Mobility Bond Program, the Austin Transportation Department and its consulting teams will then combine the input from these meetings with technical assessments to determine short-, medium-, and long-term improvements. Projects that emerge from the Corridor Studies will be reviewed for future funding opportunities. Each project development effort is anticipated to be completed by spring 2012.
