Taylor
Founded in 1876, Taylor is home to more than 30 manufacturing businesses that range from computer hardware and farm implements to library furniture. A satellite center for Temple College provides academic and workforce training. ERCOT (Electric Reliability Council of Texas) also makes its home in Taylor.
A solid, self-sustaining community
Community health care is provided by Johns Community Hospital, a 60-bed hospital with 24-hour emergency care, as well as by the Scott & White Clinic and Johns Community Health Center. Nearby Lake Granger and a municipal and a county park within the city limits provide recreational opportunities.
Taylor also has a municipal airport and a daily newspaper. A local community network provides free, public computer and Internet access as well as additional learning opportunities for community members.
