On October 5 - 7, Chamber members, community leaders and regional elected officials visited Vancouver, British Columbia in search of best practices and lessons learned on key issues facing Central Texas.This year the Chamber chose Vancouver. Topics covered during the visit included the intended and unintended consequences of high density development downtown and in regional town centers, efforts to provide affordable housing, education the Canadian way, challenges facing fast growth suburban cities, how Vancouver provides downtown circulation and how public private partnerships are managed.
