While downtown Austin continues to see a revitalization, most of the new construction is residential condominiums. This project will be the first to extensively integrate residential, office, and the funky retail space that makes Austin so unique. While not technically downtown, it is a couple of blocks north of the University of Texas, which itself is a a couple of blocks north of downtown. Key in the East Avenue project is the integration of extensive green building techniques. Some 600,000 SF of office space will begin coming online in early 2009.
