| Absolute Software Opens U.S. Headquarters In Austin
July 13 , 2009 - The Austin Chamber, through Opportunity Austin, is pleased to announce that Absolute® Software Corporation has opened its new U.S. headquarters in Austin, Texas. Absolute Software is the leading provider of firmware-based, patented, computer theft recovery, data protection and secure IT asset management solutions and their new office is home to the U.S.-based sales team and consumer business. “This is a nationally recognized technology with great potential for expansion,” said Dave Porter, Senior VP of Economic Development for the Austin Chamber. “We are excited that they have chosen Austin for their headquarters.” The company is best known as the creator of the computer theft recovery market and is the maker of the popular Computrace® and Computrace® LoJack® for Laptops product lines. Local clients include the Austin Independent School District which protects more than 8,000 school computers with Computrace. The school district recently worked with the Absolute Theft Recovery Team to successfully recover stolen district property. "Austin is known for its well-educated, talented professionals with expertise in technology and business," said John Livingston, Chairman and CEO of Absolute. "The city is home to the University of Texas and the caliber of people coupled with the area's reputation as a great place to live and work makes it an ideal location for our U.S. headquarters.
